2022 Hyundai Palisade Preview

The new Hyundai Palisade was globally introduced back in November 2018 but was launched in Malaysia in December 2021. Before choosing your next dream car, here are a few things you need to know about the new Hyundai Palisade.

Exterior

The new Hyundai Palisade has a dual power sunroof with tilting and sliding safety functions as well as a roof rack. The exterior is accompanied by not only the standard LED headlights and tail lights but also LED daytime running lights and fog lamps. The outside mirror is electrically controlled and folding while also being equipped with puddle lamps and heating functions.

Interior

The steering wheel and gear knob is covered with leather while the seats are covered with nappa leather for better grip. The new Hyundai would also be equipped with heated and ventilated front seats and second row seats for extra comfort except for the Luxe 8 and Exec 8 where it would only have heated functions on the second row seats. The new Hyundai also has a wide boot space, VDA: 704 when the third row is folded and 311 when the third row is occupied.

 Safety Features

The new Hyundai would have a total of 6 Airbags including the driver, front passenger and two on each side of the car. It is also equipped with ABS, ESC, VSM, EBD, TCS to ensure extra safety for its passengers. The new Hyundai would also have front and rear cameras that assist with parking. It also features different systems such as Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), DownHill Brake Control (DBC) and Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) for various purposes.

Engine

Palisade comes with a choice of powertrains, both mated to a shift-by-wire eight-speed automatic transmission. The highly efficient and eco-friendly Gen II 3.8 GDi gasoline and R-series diesel engines deliver best-in-class power output and are in full compliance with local emission regulations. The 2.2 CRDi VGT Diesel Engine has a max power of 200 PS/ 3,800 rpm while 3.8 GDi Gasoline Engine has a max power output of 295 PS/ 6,000 rpm. The 2.2 CRDi VGT Diesel Engine has a max torque of 440 Nm/ 1,750~2,750 rpm while 3.8 GDi Gasoline Engine has max torque of 355 Nm/ 5,200rpm.

Luxe 7, Luxe 8 vs. Exec 7, Exec 8

Both the Luxe 7 and the Luxe 8 have Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go (SCC w/S&G), Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA,) Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Forward Collision-Avoidance Asisst (FCA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) while the Exec 7 and Exec 8 have Conventional Cruise Control and  Blind Spot Collision Warning. However, all Hyundai Palisade have Safe Exit Alert (SEA), Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).
